Nagayo Sensai

Baron Nagayo Sensai was a medical doctor, educator and statesman in Meiji period Japan.

Nagayo was born to a family of traditional physicians in mura Domain, Hizen Province . After studies at the Gokkan domain academy he studied rangaku under Ogata Kan in Osaka, and returned to mura afterwards to accept an official position with the domain and rank of samurai.
